Woodfield Development, a leading Class A multifamily developer, has delivered its first residences in Texas. Strait & Nelson, slated for completion this summer, will bring 360 units to San Marcos, one of Central Texas’ fast-growing university cities.
“Strait & Nelson represents an important milestone as we expand into Texas and continue to focus on delivering thoughtfully designed communities in high-growth markets,” said Justin Cooley, director of development. “San Marcos continues to attract new residents drawn to its strong university presence, natural surroundings, and expanding local economy. We are pleased to welcome the first residents to this new community.”
Since its launch in 2005, Woodfield has completed 74 developments, has 16 communities under construction, and numerous developments in various states of entitlement and design. Headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, the developer has grown its footprint from the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast to adding a new market with an experienced boots-on-the-ground leader every year-and-a-half to two years. It now has a footprint that includes markets in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, Florida, Tennessee, and Texas. It also announced last year that it was expanding West into Arizona and Nevada.
Marking its first development in the Lone Star State, Strait & Nelson offers convenient access to Texas State University, the San Marcos River, and the city’s downtown.
The development comprises a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, ranging between 719 and 1,387 square feet. The residences feature open floor plans; contemporary finishes; modern kitchens with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops; wood-style vinyl flooring; and expansive closets.
Residents have access to a wide range of amenities that support work, recreation, and social connection, including The Troubadour clubroom with an entertainment kitchen and beer taps; The Legacy coworking lounge with private offices and conference rooms; and The Outlaw resort-style pool courtyard with outdoor gathering areas. Other amenities include a fitness center with dedicated yoga and group exercise areas; pickleball and sand volleyball courts; a gaming lounge; two dog parks with a grooming spa; bike storage and maintenance center; and electric-vehicle charging stations.
Project partners include Dwell Design Studio, ChalkLine General Contractor, and Thrive Interior Design.
